Privacy policy

Applies to all Technical Studios games and websites, including Codez. Last updated 29 October 2026.

Technical Studios ("we", "us") is an independent game developer based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what information our games and websites use, why, and the choices you have. Contact: [email protected].

Information stored on your device

Our games save your progress, stars, settings, daily-code results and leaderboard nickname in your device's local storage so the game remembers where you got to. This stays on your device and is removed if you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.

Leaderboards

If you play a daily challenge, we store your chosen nickname, your score details (time, guesses and wrong digits) and a random player ID created by the game, so the leaderboard can show results and limit you to one attempt per day. We do not ask for your real name, email or location. Leaderboard entries are stored on Cloudflare's servers and deleted automatically after about 14 days. Please don't use your real name or personal information as a nickname; offensive nicknames are blocked or replaced with "Anonymous".

Advertising

Free versions of our games may show ads provided by Google (Google AdSense / H5 Games Ads). Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads and measure their performance, and, where you consent, to personalise them. You can manage this through the consent message shown in the game (where required), at adssettings.google.com, and in your device's ad settings. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Purchases

In-app purchases (such as add-on packs or removing ads) are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details; we only receive confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock it.

Hosting and security

Our websites and game servers are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

Testing team

If you apply to test our games, we keep your name, the Google account email you give us and your phone model so we can add you to the testers list on Google Play and email you test invites and updates. We don't share it with anyone except Google Play (to grant test access) and delete it when testing ends or when you ask us to.

Children

Our games are designed for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete information we hold about you. Because we don't collect names or contact details, the simplest option is usually to clear the game's storage. For leaderboard entries or any other request, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

We may update this policy as our games change. The latest version is always on this page.
